Vacation Dates can only be entered for dates for which there are no existing schedules. If you are having trouble entering vacation dates, you may need to check the end date of the most recent schedule. You can only enter vacation dates that begin AFTER the end date of the most recent schedule.
The reason for this timing is that often ministers would confuse Vacation Dates with Sub Requests. Entering a vacation date to an existing schedule does not remove a scheduled minister from the schedule. Instead, sub requests should be used when a minister cannot satisfy a current assignment.
Also, sometimes there is a period of time in between when an admin has created a schedule and when that schedule is made live. If a minister enters vacation dates during this in between time, the minister may think they won't be scheduled for those dates when in fact, the admin has actually already created the schedule. As such, it is best practice to advise your ministers to enter vacation dates well in advance, especially prior to makin a new schedule.
Vacation Dates = for preventing being scheduled on FUTURE schedules
Sub Requests = for asking for a replacement on a current schedule.
