How to Start a Eucharistic Adoration Program

Step 1: Decide How Many Hours Per Week
While perpetual Adoration may be your long-term goal, it’s easy to begin with just a few hours each week. Starting small allows you, as the administrator or coordinator, to gradually learn the logistics of running a successful Adoration program—such as exposing and reposing the Eucharist, managing sign-ups, tracking attendance, and communicating with adorers. We usually recommend starting with 1-2 days per week. You can easily add hours using AdorationPro software.

Daytime First, Nights Later
It’s wise to establish a solid base of daytime Adoration before expanding into night hours. Daytime coverage is simpler and there is often with church staff on hand and no need to address security concerns. While 24/7 Adoration is a beautiful goal, expanding through daytime hours first is usually the smoothest path forward.

Step 2:  Simplify the Sign Up Process
Scheduling Software like AdorationPro provides you a public sign-up page to share through your parish bulletin, email announcements, projector slides, newsletters, and even in-person after Mass using iPads or computers. When adorers sign up online, they’re automatically entered into the system—no need to retype handwritten forms (though you can still enter names manually if needed).

Flexible Scheduling
AdorationPro makes it easy to begin with just a few hours, such as Fridays from 9am–2pm. You can set the system to stop accepting sign-ups for any hour once a desired number of adorers is reached (e.g., 3 adorers per hour). That means only 15 adorers are needed to fill those initial 5 hours. As your comfort with the system grows, simply add more hours and repeat your promotions to fill them. Starting with 5 hours a week for a few weeks helps you build confidence and demonstrate that your program is well-organized and sustainable.

Step 3: Launch Adoration

One week before you are ready to start, use the messaging tab in AdorationPro send out a a message to all adorers to remind them of their start date.

24 hours before your start Date, you can turn the Reminders ON in AdorationPro. This will begin the automatic reminders.

Step 4: Manage your Eucharistic Adoration Program
Believe it or not. most of the adoration program will be managed by AdorationPro. Sub requests are handled automatically.

Attendance Tracking
You can check the attendance of each adorer in AdorationPro and quickly see any areas with poor coverage.

Sub Log
The Sub Log also makes it easy to monitor the sub request activity. Any non filled requests can be resent at once using the Bulk Sub Request Resend button.

Step 5: Adding Hours
We recommend starting with a small number of hours. Once you have 2+ adorers in each hour, you can using the "coming soon" feature in AdorationPro to allow sign ups for those new coming soon hours. Once those coming soon hours have 2+ adorers per slot, you can make them active hours. AdorationPro does allow zero or one adorer per hour. However, we recommend you have 2+ adores per slot. Two or more adorers per slot significantly decreases the pain and frustration of adoration coordinators.

Step 6: Pass to the new Coordinator
When your time comes to pass on the coordinator role, you'll find it very easy to find your replacement if you are using AdorationPro. You'll simply pass along the admin password to the well oiled machine.  The simple system to pass along may be the #1 reason to use AdorationPro.

With AdorationPro, growth is always manageable. Add hours, adjust coverage, and invite adorers—all with just a few clicks.
